Samantha Jade is a popular newscaster who's always on a mission, being on location to cover the important stories of the city. She always finds time to fulfill her social responsibilities. This is why she's often seen on TV celebrating her friend's birthday parties, or with her parents and siblings at the local shopping mall, as well as attending the annual community jamboree. She's a family man, and is committed to his career as well as her friends. Samantha is the epitome of 'Modern Indian Woman' and a 'Superwoman' who's one of the best in the field of journalism. The only weakness in her personality is her work. She often quotes Nietzsche in everyday situations - this could be why, at the start of the movie, we are taken back to her childhood, where her mother committed suicide. Her mother left a note which read "I'm sick of you being a woman". Her father only cared about his career as a journalist, and seemed to have an affair with her best friend, which was rumored to be a minor scandal at their school. Samantha grew up in a loving family and had a balanced relationship with her father and her mother's friend. She was also well respected by her colleagues, despite her looks. The story begins at the jamboree, where Samantha was covering the story of a murder in the city. She also covered a story about child trafficking, which caught the eye of Vardhan Khanna, the head of the media. Vardhan's name had been mentioned in a story a few days earlier. Vardhan was a widower who had devoted his life to the community. At the jamboree, he noticed Samantha's compassion and began to admire her. He started to develop feelings for her, and he was afraid of losing her, as she loved her husband, and he knew he would never be able to fulfill her dreams. When he found out about her husband's affair, he encouraged her to walk away from her husband. However, when Samantha refused to accept his offer, Vardhan decided to take a gamble. He began to stalk her in order to force her to accept his offer. One night when she was alone, he kissed her. Samantha did not reciprocate his feelings, and brushed him off. However,
